She passed away two weeks ago after a battle with DIPG, a type of brain cancer.<\/p>\n<p>People celebrated her life by wearing purple and releasing balloons behind Silver Lake Grade School.<\/p>\n<p>Parker\u2019s father, Daniel Monhollon, said he has his community to thank for an almost perfect day. He says their family spent the day at Parker\u2019s memorial and ate at her favorite restaurant, Olive Garden.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It&#8217;s hard to describe,\u201d Monhollon said. \u201cI feel like it&#8217;s an amazing family that just came in and took care of us. Without having the Silver Lake community with us going through Parker&#8217;s battle, we would&#8217;ve fallen apart. Everybody around us was always stepping up just to make sure we were okay.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The community is continuing to rally around the family.
